When we design our IP55 infrared heaters, we’re thinking about two things: damp bathrooms and people’s eyes. The big problem with most heaters is that “blinding” effect. You know the one—where you turn it on and it feels like a spotlight is hitting you in the face. That’s just not okay, especially if there are kids or babies around with sensitive eyes. The trick to the light Most standard lamps just blast a ton of visible light along with the heat. We do things differently. By tweaking the filament temperature and using special quartz coatings, we filter out those harsh blue peaks. You still get that instant, cozy warmth, but the light stays soft. It’s a much more relaxing experience. Dealing with the steam Water and electricity are a bad mix. That’s where the IP55 rating comes in. It basically means we’ve locked the unit down so dust and water sprays can’t get inside. We seal the connections and use housings that won’t rust or corrode. It keeps the humidity from creeping into the guts of the machine, so you don’t have to worry about the unit shorting out just because the shower is running hot. The trade-off Here is the honest truth: these heaters use radiant heat. They hit you directly, which is why they feel so fast. Because we’ve filtered the light to make it safe for your eyes, you might notice it doesn’t hit “peak” heat quite as violently as a raw, industrial lamp would. But honestly? It’s a fair trade. You get a flicker-free, safe glow instead of a blinding glare. One last tip on the wiring Don’t cut corners here. These units pull a lot of power the moment they kick on. Make sure your contractor puts them on a dedicated circuit and double-checks the load capacity. If the wiring is too thin, you’ll get voltage drops, and the heater just won’t perform the way it should. Get the wiring right, and you’re golden.
