If you’ve ever dealt with bubbles or patchy drying on a finish, you know how frustrating it is. You need that heat to be steady and consistent across the whole piece. A lot of shops think they have to buy the big-name international brands to get that quality. But here’s the thing: physics doesn’t care about a logo. Whether the lamp is from a famous brand or not, it all comes down to the wattage, the wavelength, and how the reflector is shaped. That’s it. Getting the heat right We build our IR lamps to hit the exact same power-to-length specs as the big OEMs. When you’ve got the right wattage over the right area, the heat hits hard and fast, pushing moisture out of the wood or resin exactly when it needs to. Just a heads-up: if you’re replacing a burnt-out lamp, make sure your voltage and wattage match perfectly. If they don’t, you’re either going to end up with a tacky, under-cured finish or a blown fuse in your control cabinet. Neither is a great way to spend your afternoon. The nuts and bolts We use high-purity quartz glass because it can handle the shock of being turned on and off quickly without cracking. Plus, our halogen-filled tubes heat up way faster than the standard stuff. As for the fit? We use standard R7s and Sk15 connectors. They just slide right in. You won’t have to mess around with your wiring or hack away at the housing to make them work. A quick tip from the shop floor High-output lamps are great, but they put a lot of stress on your reflectors. Take a look at yours. If they’re pitted or looking a bit oxidized, you’re probably wasting 20% to 30% of your energy. That heat is heading toward your ceiling instead of your furniture.
